MidlandU.edu is one of the primary components in Midland University’s recent efforts to promote its new identity. The website highlights the university’s academic programs, athletics, and student life. Pickering designed the site to have a fresh, youthful look that would appeal to students, its primary audience. The intuitive design allows visitors to quickly access information and locate important content. In order to keep the site updated and relevant, Drupal, a Content Management System (CMS), was employed to enable convenient updates of all material on the site.
Internal pages on the site feature upcoming academic events, photos from campus, social media links, search bar, and secondary navigation.
Academic Information
Students visiting the site can gather information concerning the various majors and degrees offered. Course catalogs and schedules are only a click away. Potential students can take a virtual tour of the campus and find out what it’s like to attend Midland University.
Directories
The site features a directory of Professors and coaches with phone numbers and email addresses.
Athletic Department
Midland University has an entire section dedicated to athletics. Here, students can browse through a list of sports, contact a coach, find information for prospective athletes, and check on the athletic calendar. Every sport has a unique section with correlating pages.
Virtual Campus Tour
A virtual tour slideshow enables prospective students to get a better understanding of the university, community, and campus.
Customizable Slideshow
The homepage features a customizable slideshow with corresponding text. A CMS program allows for easy updates and image changes.
Video Testimonials
Students can better understand the Midland experience by watching one of the many videos on the site featuring student testimonials.
Google Calendar Integration
The site employs google calendars for all events such as academic, arts, and athletics. Google calendars are easy to use and update, and work seamlessly with the site’s layout.
